Somemon-cho Summer Festival
Developing as Hanamachi, Osaka Minami Soemon-cho has about 400 years of history. Based on the concept of "Soemon-cho, a town with food, alcohol, and a river", it is a shopping district where more than 500 eating and drinking establishments have gathered. Throughout the year, a variety of events and campaigns are conducted. The Soemon-cho Summer Festival" bustles with a total of 5,000 visitors (over the 2 days it is held), making it the largest local event held in the Soemon-cho area each year.

Various musicians and performers on the "open-air live stage" will offer a complete entertainment from classical Japanese dance, Enka (folk songs) to jazz, pops, and chansons. In the "open-air beer hall", visitors can enjoy popular menu

Description | Centered around an "Outdoor Live Stage", in which a diverse array of musicians and performers appear over 2 days, it also includes an "Outdoor Beer Hall" which features 10 famous and popular shops from Soemon-cho shopping street. At the “open-air live stage”, this year’s special guest is scheduled to be Tomogoro Yamamura, master of Yamamura-ryu Rokusei-Souke Japanese dance, so that visitors may at least partially enjoy the traditional culture of the flower town Nanchi. |
